Round 1 TT Across Series – Christchurch

We left Blenheim on Saturday afternoon & got to the track  at about 5pm. We were the only ones brave enough (or silly enough) to camp in a tent. I walked the track in the semi-darkness; I was getting excited the more I saw the track. We woke to a good frost & a clear sky. Practice was quite greasy on the wet grass, I got a look in lap & it felt comfortable.                                                                                                                                                                                                              Race 1: I got a good start, 4th around the first corner three riders passed me. I was really enjoying the track even through I nearly went over the bars. I ended up getting 8th I was stoked.                                                                                   Race 2: I got a middle of the pack start. Coming out of a gullY & up the hill there was 3 bikes across the track, I thought I could wheelie over one of them, bad mistake! Falling off & rolling down the hill. I started in last position, I did not give up & battled back to 14th at the chequed flag.                                                                                                                  Race 3: This time I had another good start & rode quite well. I did fall off twice but they were simple mistakes. Crossing the finish line in 8th place, I was very pleased with myself. Overall in the points I am currently 10th equal. Thanks to my sponsors Team Pygmy, Peter Grinter Motorcycles & Blenheim Bearing & Accessories.

BLENHEIM FLAT TRACKS ROUND 1

Talk about cold I thought my toes would fall off. In practice I got a good look at the track. It was fast, flowing & tacky. Race 1: I got the holeshot but got passed by Isaac Milson, I carried on being 2nd for most of the race but got passed by Ben Wells, I ended up getting 3rd.                                                                                                                                                                   Race 2: I almost got the holeshot but couldn’t quite mange it, 2 people passed me & my wrist was seizing up so I got passed again. It wasn’t my best race  & I was annoyed that I got 5th.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Race 3: I pulled a big holeshot & was in the lead for 2 laps, then Isaac passed me. I rode right up his bum for the rest of the race, finishing 2nd I was so pumped. I’m currently 3rd in the points chase.                                                                 Thanks Isaac & Ben for some great racing. Thanks also to my sponsors Team Pygmy, Peter Grinter Motorcycles & Blenheim Bearing & Accessories.                                                                                                                                                     Catch you next week Mitch #67

New bike new season – Sophie Palmer

The day started off dark, cold & with a thick layer of frost stuck to the ground & a 5.45am wake up wasn’t exactly my idea of a good time to start the day. I was excited to race my new KXF250 for the first time & also to be on board the PYGMY  Racing Team. After a terrible practise in slippery conditions I wasn’t so sure. However completing race 1 with a win gave me the hyped up confidence boost that I needed for the next 2 races. In race two & three the track had dried out perfectly with small berms on most of the corners, which I loved hitting on my bike.I felt really in control & confident of my new bike throughout races 2 & 3, so i twisted the throttle round & earned myself another two wins, the rest of the girls from my class where out of sight by the time the race had ended. Thanks Peter & JNICK Foundation for the awesome bike & support, I can’t wait to race at the next round.

TT Series & flat track

My name is Isaac I’m one of the three people that got the kawasiki scholarship. It felt good starting the new season and espeicially good with a brand new 85cc bike. Dad and I went to the TT series in Amberly 2 weeks ago, it was fun getting to know the bike on a track like that, it was the first time that I had raced in the 12-16 grade but I still placed 15th. It was the flat track series last weekend im starting to get use to the bike a bit more now, I had two fairly good starts but i fell off in the second race and couldnt get my bike going butt Mitchell Mol got it going for me I lost a lap but started to make my way back up the feild, the weekend was still fun. thats all from me bye…
