What a wicked weekend!!
In practice I went out had a good look at the track I could tell the corners were going to berm up really nicely. The track was really fast and flowing.
In race 1 I was so surprised, I thought it was going to be hard against Ben and all the other Marlborough riders but I absolutely cleaned them up. But the Christchurch and Nelson riders beat me, I finished in 6th position.
Onto race 2, I got a useless start but fought back to 8th passing Isaac Godsiff on the last lap over a hill in midair. I tried to catch 6th but I was too far behind so I settled for 7th.
Race 3 it started to rain & was an awesome ride in the mud it was slippery just how I like it, I only just missed out on 4th by about three bike lengths.
Sunday:
Practice was wet and slippery but I knew the bigger bikes would soon blow it off the top and the track would be perfect.
In race 4 I was riding awesomely the whole race finishing 6th once again.
Race 5 was a cracker I was behind an YZ that had beaten me previously in all the races, I was chasing him down but every time I went to pass him he cut me off. So on a really rough uphill I came up behind him went out to the left & he got way out of shape cutting in front of me clipping my front wheel, knocking me off (I hit the ground hard) I got back up and rode hard until I twisted my knee badly so I kept my spot and finished 9th.
In the Feature race I came off on the first lap I remounted in dead last but made a wicked come back up to 11th I couldn’t catch Ben and Isaac, it was great racing for 20 minutes.
After the feature race I went to the ambulance & got my knee strapped to keep the swelling down.
This was the last event of the year; I’ve had a really awesome season of motocross. It’s been an enormous honor to be in the PGM race team & I can’t thank PGM & the JNICK foundation enough. I have leant a lot over the season not only about motocross but about myself. I would also like to thank my Dad & Mum for all the encouragement, training & keeping my bike running so well, also to all the riders I have ridden against you guys make the sport so much fun.
I can’t wait till next years race season to start & to see some new faces in the team & also new people to the sport.
My big goal next year is to go to the NZ Junior Nationals.
Till next season
