Practice race: well it was a fast, dry & dusty track. There wasn’t as many girls as I thought there would be but they were fast. Sophie & I were the only girls riding from Blenheim. I had a really good look around the track because after the last few races, I have had bad practice races & I was hoping not to again.
Race 1: It was a dusty path to the first corner & I couldn’t see much until about halfway through the first lap, when most of the girls were up ahead. It was a great track but would have been better if it wasn’t so dusty. Because I had never really ridden in the dust before it was a bit difficult to get used to the change from mud/dirt. It was a good race especially as I didn’t fall off, even if I did come last.
Race 2: It was a long wait at the gates due to the water trucks & I was hoping that it wouldn’t become boggy. I didn’t fall off this race either, I must have tried hard enough or something like that. I was faster than my first race, which was my goal to beat my own time because there weren’t any riders at my speed.
Race 3: It was very dry in places & hard to see where I was going, so I just stuck my feet to my pegs & held on as tight as I could. I had heaps of fun during that race. This was the hottest weather I had ever ridden in.
Day 2:
I was very sore the next day & had bad tummy cramps. I could hardly walk, so I couldn’t race which was a disappointment
We are off to Nelson this weekend, Gracie
Thanks PGM Racing
